A video shoot was penciled in on my work calendar for today to obtain more B-roll footage for our video project. Despite yesterday’s storm that barreled through the state, we decided to take a chance and hit the road anyway, despite the drizzles and the dark clouds. (More ~ video log entry)

The University of Hawaii football team remains undefeated (11-0) after tonight’s victory against Boise State in front of a sold out crowd at Aloha Stadium, which makes them this year’s WAC Champions!
Admittedly, I’m not much of a sports fan, but it’s hard not to get excited when your home team is doing so well. My parents are totally into it, even ordering the $300+ pay-per-view package so that they can watch every game LIVE. Mom will even ask me to reschedule taking them out to dinner if it conflicts with a game. Despite being such die hard fans, my mom refuses to go to the stadium to watch the game. Aside from the crowds, the parking dilemma, and the sometimes unruly fans, she says that she can’t watch a game without the play-by-play commentary and replays.
I’m happy for the team and I hope that they can remain undefeated for the remainder of the season — and win that bowl game! GO WARRIORS!

Ala Moana Shopping Center is all decked out in its Christmas attire. The big Santa is standing tall, overlooking Ala Moana Beach Park across the street. Christmas is in the air and the retailers can smell the musky scent of cold, hard cash. On Veteran’s Day morning, the mall traffic was relatively light. Perhaps the sale seekers were sleeping in.
Since Hubby was working today (ironic since he’s a veteran), I decided to take my folks out for lunch and shopping. Recent events have really made me realize that we must make the most of opportunities to spend time with loved ones when we can. I was tempted to simply sleep in, stay home, do laundry and catch up with various projects. But, I knew spending a few hours to take the folks out would mean so much more — to them, and me. And, it did.
I hope you had a nice holiday, and for those who are serving our country (or have served in the past), I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your sacrifices do not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Happy Veteran’s Day.
I played hooky from karate this morning to get my client work done -- and to catch up with some work from my "real job." My breakfast usually consists of either: 1) oatmeal, or 2) Carnation Instant Breakfast. Both are usually eaten in haste and with very little enjoyment. Today, after sleeping until my body woke itself up, rather than being jarred awake by an alarm, I felt wonderfully refreshed. I decided, why not take a few minutes to make a nostalgic, albeit decadent, breakfast to start the weekend off on the right foot?
Sure, it's not the healthiest choice, but sometimes I feel entitled to allow myself little indulgences like this, especially after a particularly hard week. And boy, was it yummy.
Most times, I feel, simple is best.
