oh, man, what a bummer! here's a pat on the back for encouragement!
i went through GD as well. i was really bummed when i first learned that i got it - mainly because a lot of family members were giving me grief that i had caused it but now watching my diet up until that point (i had a really bad first trimester - keeping my stomach full was the only way i could control the nausea in my case). i then did some research and found out that it's not always something one can control - and feeling guilty over it was silly.

so, like you, i took action. once i got going with my new education and all the monitoring, i found it to be okay. i watched what i ate and did a lot of swimming and aqua-aerobics. i found that pumping up the proteins to go with my carbs really helped. especially drinking milk and having some solid cheese (like cheese and cracker for snack).

and my baby came out very healthy. so keep up the good work - everything will fall into the place!
